Several years back we managed a property that had 3 female college students living in it. Two were upstairs and one down.
This particular disagreement was centered around a piano. The girls upstairs had a piano and frequently practiced playing. The one downstairs took it as a slight to her. (Not a music lover?) She finally had enough and took action, she barricaded the basement door with furniture. The biggest problem with that? The washer and dryer were downstairs with her!
